Has anyone ever missed college due to having surgery?

Talk to your professors. Their response will depend on how long your surgery/recovery is. If you need to miss just a few days of classes, it's fine. But if you're going to be gone for weeks or months, they will likely recommend you take a leave of absence since you'll miss too much work.
