A couple questions about bottle feeding and hospital?

I had a couple questions that I want to know. I am due tomorrow and just wanted to clarify a few things. I will be giving my baby formula and not breastfeediing. (Please do not ask it's for medical reasons and I'd rather not discuss it). So when you have your baby at the hospital I know that they will provide formula but from what I have read women breastfeed immediately. Will they give me a bottle of formula right when he is born or do they wait a bit? My hospital does provide formula because I called and asked just to be sure. Another question I had about it was will they still let me room in and everything with my baby even though I am formula feeding? This is really important to me because I want my baby to stay with me and my husband no matter what. I plan on telling the nurses as long as nothing is wrong we don't want him separated for long periods of time. I will be induced on the 12th if he isn't here so I know I can talk to my doctor before if I need to but help is really appreciated.

What to do about 10 ppl in a 3 bed room home?

Ok so I live in a 3 bedroom home with my mom my 2 brothers(14 and 22) and me(17). My home and one of my brothers(22) have a room while my other brother(14) has a bed in the living room. I hate my step mom at times?

I've always had huge hopes about college. Am I screwed now?

I've always wanted to get into a college like BU or Syracuse, and now I feel there's no way that's going to happen. My life took a rough turn when my mom got divorced and became an alcoholic. I had to stop focusing on school and start focusing on her and my little sister. Now, I have the worst grades imaginable with a 2.5 G.P.A. in my junior year. I was told that I wasn't registered for this class the day I went in to register because I was missing shot records and test scores, the lady helping me out told me I couldn't attend classes until I returned with this information. Certain and I was forced to move back to my home town and retake my old jobs. She had assured me I was not registered and I still had the signed paperwork I was supposed to return with shot records and test scores. Now I am receivables from a collection agency for these classes. I called to straighten things out with the college only to have the women I was talking to ask how I could make an A in a class I didn't attend? The other three classes I was a no-show and I should have been for this class as well considering I never attended it. I replied, "I don't know how I made an A in a class I never attended but I have proof I was working 65miles away and couldn't attend this class." They retorted, "Who were you sending in your place?" I replied I hadn't sent anyone in my place and mentioned that the professor who had the class should have a sign in sheet, but now the professor they gave me the number for will not return my phone calls and they refuse the remove the charges. What is scary is I made an A in a class I never took for nursing. They graduate LVN's RN's and other medical positions every year, I'm now worried about seeing any of these graduates, how do I know they really earned that diploma, certificate, or other proof of graduating. I scored a 28 on the ACT first time. Is that good?

Don't listen to Zara because the ACT test is out of 36 and not 31/32... But I am not quite familiar with the colleges that you listed but if you want to go to a more presitigious college, retaking the exam is very necessary. Straight A's, internships a relatively high ACT score (higher than 28) will get you into good schools but not the most elite. If you are looking at Harvard/Yale/Stanford/MIT etc. you'll need to do something that will separate you from the rest of the herd; good scores won't just get you in.

For my first smart phone what should I get?

I've never had a smart phone, but have wanted one forever, but I kind of need one soon. Is this normal! pregnancy symptoms? !?

Does this sound like pregnancy symptoms? On February 9th,10th and 11th I had unprotected sex, though i was on the pill, at the time I was on antibiotics, penicillin and amoxicillin. He never ejaculated in me once. I took a qualitative blood test at planned parenthood a little over a month after that and it was negative, I also had a negative urine test that day as well. I should mention i have had a period every month but since I'm on the pill the periods are light so I don't know if i could be ppregnant. Lately I've been tired but i do work graveyard, I find myself wanting tto sleep all day. I've been nauseated, but not to the point where I vomit, the tips of my nipples have been hurting to the touch like if I graze them with my finger tip and push down slightly for 4 days and according to the pills i wont get a period for 12 more days,and I always feel hungry. I took a dollar store test today and it was negative, but this week I've had a feelingthat feels likea bbaby kicking. And I've been burping alot today. I don't have health insurance. Could i be pregnant or is it just indigestion? and When I went to planned parenthood for the blood test they laughed and I had to fight to get it, all they do is urine dips. Is it really just braxton hicks?

I am 36 weeks pregnant. I went to the hospital because I was having intense contractions since 3 am and the day before I also had an intense pain in my stomach that lasted 30 minutes and was intense enough to make me throw up. The "contractions" I was having this morning, from 3 am to 8 am it was a constant, horribly painful menstrual cramp feeling and then from 8am on it started to fade and come back like contractions are supposed to. Also, the entire time my stomach was hard. The nurse suggested that I might be having preterm constactions because of dehydration but my actual doctor said it was just Braxton Hicks. Could that really be all it was? I didn't think braxton hicks was supposed to be so painful.. Not to mention, I tried everything to get the pains to subside and nothing would help. I just cant bring myself to believe what the doctor said... Do you think its really just braxton hicks?

Small (liberal arts?) schools with good science?

i'm a high school junior trying to make my college applications list. i'm not a genius but i get quite good grades and do extracurriculars and sports and things. i've visited several colleges so far and think i definitely want a small or medium sized school, NOT a big research institution. i'm from a small town and very much like the friendly, familiar community feeling of a small school. also, i'm kind of a nerd and i like the smart, quirky, driven people at prestigious liberal arts colleges. however, some of the small schools i've looked at (macalester, bates, middlebury, williams) don't have very good science programs or science research. i am almost positive i want to study some kind of science, probably biology or medicine rather than chemistry or physics. any suggestions for small or medium (try to keep it under 15,000) sized schools with good science? liberal arts would be nice but is not an absolute requisite. schools i've already found that seem to fit these criteria include wesleyan (noted for good science), reed (good research, i've heard), rice (a bit more math-focused than i'm looking for but still nice) and case western (not liberal arts at all). i'm not hugely picky about location but i'm not too enthusiastic about the deep south. thanks for any suggestions!

I have a month old baby girl n hav t go back to work tonight, if I don't pump or nurse for 7 hours, what will it do to my milk supply? I really want t keep breastfeeding while working, and although everyone at work is very supportive, there's nowhere private for me to go and pump. Why don't you volunteer there during regular college, or intern there and if you like it, except for blood and needles, try being a vet tech, although they do that stuff too, something can be done. Also they will ask you questions like whatyou can't handle, and since blOod and needles are a vets job, you prob won't get it. I would have a plan B. Good luck.

okay so i asked a question earlier about why ignorant adults judge teen moms? but a guy got really rude about it so i deleted it. I wanted to explain myself more. I am a teen mother a 3 month old, I live with my boyfriend, he has a job, it may not be the best but it gets us a lot of things for ourselves and our son, I plan on getting married when high school is over. I'm going to finish my senior year and go on to become a labor & delivery nurse. I am on WIC but for formula because we all know formula is expensive. I buy cans of formula but sometimes we all need a little help. It's just not teens on WIC there are adults and I know plenty who have a good income and are on WIC. I do not drink, do drugs, leave our child with someone else. This was not a plan pregnancy but I'm happy it happened. I did not party before I got pregnant. I'm doing the best I can and so is his father whom I've known for almost 4 years. Why do people judge teen moms? I mean I know I am a way better mother then some older moms in their 20's 30's 40's etc... And I know I'm a way better mom then most teen mothers. So why do people judge us teens? I'm not asking why do people judge me. Please if you answer, no smart remarks, or answers that have nothing to do with my question. Thanks.

Well, I'm just about to start my 7th grade year. In preschool and in kinder garden I went to a private school that practiced to religion Pentecostal. I live with my dad and he's DEFINITELY not religious. He believes in God but that's it. I remarried when he was three. This was in 1994. His father was abusive and a drug addict and not to mention bipolar. I did not know it at the time, he was diagnosed with it 2 yrs ago. My son tells people that he had a rotten childhood because I divorced his father. He has seen his father (who still lives with his own mother at the age of 38) be abusive towards his own mother, so I have always been at a loss as to why he takes his anger out on me. He has always rejected my husband who is probably the nicest person anyone could meet, has been good to me and has tried to be a father figure to my son. My parents and his paternal grandmother pretty much have always given him anything he wants, things that I could not give him. Even though he has not lived with me over the last several years, I have always told him he can stay with us, I have paid all his medical bills, and have always tried to help him when I can. I helped him get into college. His attitude towards me is he will be fine one minute, then go off on me cuss me out. Then this will be followed by horrible text messages. He has treated other family members awful, and has done the same thing to my sister and my brother's son who is his cousin. I have tried to get him counseling, but when the counselor told him that she had a possible diagnoses in mind, he quit seeing her. Blood work was done to check his hormones and thyroid but it all came back normal. I have a feeling that he might have inherited bipolar from his father. But with his constant refusal to get help and meds, I have gotten to a point where I just don't want to be around him. He treats me the way his father did. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who has gone through having an abusive adult child in their life and what the outcome was.

this sounds like a horribly sticky situation... theres got to be a way out of this situation for you because your well being seems to be suffering. alot of people are feeling stuck right now in these financial times. my suggestion is to search far and wide for a job and be very SERIOUS about this because this willbe your only way out!!! your escape plan! unless you think you can stomach the environment long enough to finish school...if you do decide to do that i would reccommend a good mp3 player/playlist because music can help when you are dealing w ith people like that. and try to be out of the house as much as possible. its the only way. you will need to find a roomate and a job close by the place you live... or vice versa but its the only way you will get out! start making real plans now and making steps towards getting yourself where you need to be or stay where you are focus on school, pray that god helps you maintain your sanity and be the best student you can be so you can leave and dont turn out to be a bitter miserable person like youre mother! let me know if you need any help/support!

Ok here's my story...my parents were drug addicts when I was born. After my birth, My dad quit everything and straightened up but my mom didn't. They divorced and I was constantly caught in between fights. My mom was a terrible influence on me and I was quite the troublemaker. My dad won custody of me and remarried. Small (liberal arts?) schools with good science?

i'm a high school junior trying to make my college applications list. i'm not a genius but i get quite good grades and do extracurriculars and sports and things. i've visited several colleges so far and think i definitely want a small or medium sized school, NOT a big research institution. i'm from a small town and very much like the friendly, familiar community feeling of a small school. also, i'm kind of a nerd and i like the smart, quirky, driven people at prestigious liberal arts colleges. however, some of the small schools i've looked at (macalester, bates, middlebury, williams) don't have very good science programs or science research. i am almost positive i want to study some kind of science, probably biology or medicine rather than chemistry or physics. any suggestions for small or medium (try to keep it under 15,000) sized schools with good science? liberal arts would be nice but is not an absolute requisite. schools i've already found that seem to fit these criteria include wesleyan (noted for good science), reed (good research, i've heard), rice (a bit more math-focused than i'm looking for but still nice) and case western (not liberal arts at all). i'm not hugely picky about location but i'm not too enthusiastic about the deep south. thanks for any suggestions!

I've re-read The Hunger Games a million times, hate Twilight and am waiting with bated breath for the next Percy Jackson. I've reserved the Demi-God files from the libury but I really want some more books to read! I'm a big fan of fantasy but I often read from the young adults/adults section so I am also familer with other genres. I don't like romance that much but a little bit of it on the sidelines is ok. Why does my mom do this?

My mom only gives recognition to my youngest sibling. She is still in highschool and dances and is good in music. My oldest brother and sister are really good n she graduated with a 3.7 gpa form highschool and is currently going to school for nursing. My oldest brother has a good job kids and a house. I live in NY and I lived in California and overseas. I am not touching the "overseas" subject it would be difficult to figure out, but I am asking for this country. New puppy with possible developmental issues?

It sounds to me like an urgent trip to the vet is in order. There are several things that you mentioned that concern me. Bloated belly could be worms, walks in circles and runs into things could be eyes or brain issues or something else entirely. Has the puppy been de-wormed , what about vaccinations? You say that the friend was the cause of the problems, was the puppy a product of improper breeding? Improper breeding can lead to many problems. I have personally seen puppies that were doing some of the things that you describe that were the product of improper breeding such as walking in circles. The puppy seems to have a lot of things going on so I would say get the vet to take a look and if at all possible get the full story from your friend. After that event I went to the hospital 3 days later to get my 2nd ekg (first one was in the nurses office once the doctors got there) and it was fine, then I got an ultra sound i believe where they rubbed a little remote like object with a circular end and with some gel on my chest and that turned out normal too. I have yet to get a stress test and it had been almost 2 months after that happened. The abnormal beating hasn't happened since but I still everyday am scared that it can happen if I run so when I do (not so often, only when I have to for football training) I get really anxious and start to have a panic attack. Before the second episode I was drinking 2 sodas everyday and 2 red bulls a week. Ever since the second episode I haven't had any soda with caffeine or any red bull and like I said before it hasn't happened again. I am not overweight and am 14 years old. I have two autistic brothers who my mom of course is very involved with. Fights with parents is common in teenagers as teens start feeling more independent they want more freedom and parents aren't entirely ready for that change. Regular fights with parents is normal nut once a week is way to often. I've always wanted to get into a college like BU or Syracuse, and now I feel there's no way that's going to happen. My life took a rough turn when my mom got divorced and became an alcoholic. I had to stop focusing on school and start focusing on her and my little sister. Now, I have the worst grades imaginable with a 2.5 G.P.A. in my junior year. I haven't taken the SAT's yet, but I'm really good at testing so I think I'm going to do well on those. I'm taking AP's this year and next, even if I didn't get good grades in one of them this year. I'm an excellent writer and I was in a writing program this year with Bates college (as a part of my high school's "partnership" with them). I want to be a lawyer, I always have and I always will, but I also want to minor in english. Advice? Try not to be too harsh, I know I'm pretty much screwed already, I just need advice on what to do. DO NOT SUGGEST COMMUNITY COLLEGE. I refuse to go to one, I have to get into at least a state college. Any suggestions for colleges I can go to? Outside the state of Maine please? A strange dream i had about a white cobra and giving birth?

i dreamed that i entered the hospital bleeding but was told by a nurse i had already given birth.it was a fair cute baby boy and i held him in my hands then the dream changed to a large group of snakes attacking.i sensed my son was in danger and i got rid of all the other snakes till there were left 2. a small white snake and a larger black one.the white snake flared up an i knew it was a white cobra.it bit of the head of the black snake and i through the the black one away.i cradled the white cobra knowing it was my child but something unseen had tried to crush it.i was so sad i thought my son had died.till i felt an unseen hand lifting what ever was trying to kill the white cobra and as it was lifted my son the white cobra was bleeding on it's head badly and yet i knew he was alive.this dream is new to me and i don't have any children right now

I can't stand my mothers husband. I won't call him my step dad.?

Just him breathing annoys me. I don't even think he loves my mom. He left once before. Then he came back. I enjoyed it so much with out him. Don't worry about the PSAT, I got what you got and ended up getting a 2100 on the real SAT, and I got accepted to Penn's Wharton school. It looks like you've done A LOT of extracurricular stuff - which is awesome and is very important in the application process - but the MOST important thing is how you perform in your college prep (primarily AP) classes. Yes, you're on the right track by taking 10 APs, but you need to focus on putting forth all the effort you can in those classes. At the rate you're going, you have a good shot at many of the schools on your list, provided you keep it all up and you do well over the next 2 years. Good luck!

What can cps do to me if i tested positive for marijuana during my labor?

Long story short there was a death in my family that caused me a great deal of stress when I was 8 months pregnant so I smoked some marijuana to help with my loss. I used to smoke marijuana and cigarettes everyday before I was pregnant and quit doing it during my pregnancy until that one time. I went into labor and they said I tested positive for marijuana and tested my son and he came out negative. I was interviewed by a hospital employee who informed me that she has to report this to cps. They told me for me to be able to breastfeed I would have to pump and dump for about 5 days or so which I've been doing. Its been about 5 days since I delivered my son and I haven't heard anything. Does anyone know the laws in California about cps and my situation. One of the nurses told me not to worry cause they wont pursue such a small issue but I'm still nervous. Does anyone know what the laws are in California about this situation? Or does anyone know of a website that has info about stuff like this.
